On August 7th and 8th, 2018 intake, the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts held a graduation show for 41 students of final year Bachelor in fashion design 2018.
This year, we made some new arrangements, organizations, and methods special. All the collections of students were shown on the professional runway 16 meters long and the high standard sound, lighting systems were staged also in Lobby F on Ton Duc Thang University’s campus.
The jury included some famous fashion designers, creative director and the experienced lecturers who are from big universities in Ho Chi Minh city. Especially, fashion designer Sy Hoang was being a chairman of the board for our 2018 Bachelor of fashion design graduate. On the other hand, we were proud of welcoming Elle’s creative director - Dzung Yoko, fashion designers such as Hoang Minh Ha, Le Thanh Hoa and Tuan Tran to attend as the guests.
Our 41 students brought to the day filled color and innovation with so many diversified looks: designs of childrenswear, avant-garde, evening gowns, wedding dresses, street styles,... Beside of getting used to the ideas regarding the beauty of nature and cultural values, some students also chose another interesting and humanistic ones as student Ho Thi To Quyen’s collection whose got idea from the children affected by chemicals left over from the Agent Orange, student Nguyen Duc Thanh’s collection got inspired from the death’s decomposition of animal hooves.
The final year’s students brought out their innovative ideas by showcasing the impressive and new looks. For example, student Lam Tuan Kiet’s collection with the theme “Design the street clothes with sporty style for young men and women got inspired from the logo of Pepsi- Cola's brand” and instructed by his mentor Phan Anh Tuan. His scores were almost perfect from the judges and attracted to Pepsi-Cola representative immediately.
After four months of hard working, the final year’s 41 students successfully defended in their design major and brought back the good feelings to all judges, lecturers as well as another students and attendants.
